Catholic Charities of California United (CCCU) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(4) organization representing the twelve Local Catholic Charities Organizations (LCCO’s) in the State of California. CCCU advocates on behalf of over 1 million clients being served by LCCO’s in California every year and for resources to serve more. We are committed to finding and promoting solutions at the state level to reduce poverty and human suffering in our state. Our Catholic values, teachings, and traditions provide the foundation for the work we do at the state level of government.
Currently, Catholic Charities of California United is advocating at the state level on issues related to Immigration, Unaccompanied Undocumented Minors, and Emergency Shelter.
What Catholic Charities of California does:
Catholic Charities of California, Inc. represents the twelve Local Catholic Charities Organizations in California at the state level. Every year, these organizations provide more than 1.5 million professional social services to Californians who need help. Founded in 1986, Catholic Charities of California is the single point of access to this statewide network. In support of Local Catholic Charities Organizations, Catholic Charities of California:
- Is the point of contact with state officials, legislators, foundations, and other statewide and national organizations;
- Applies for funding on behalf of Local Organizations and leads administration of regional and statewide programs;
- Provides technical assistance, and leadership to Local Organizations in developing model programs; and
- Facilitates collaboration and networking among Local Catholic Charities Organizations.
